The Figs tree is an evergreen, medium-sized scenic tree in the dry zone of Sri Lanka, as well as in the wet zone forests, where the streams are located, and along the streams, rivers, and banks. The figs tree, as we have seen, has already become a tree that protects the water we live in, protects the springs, and benefits the environment.

Because of this phenomenon, the Bodhi Tree, which has been a shade of Konagama Buddha, since the Buddhists’ acceptance, has been called a fig tree since then. The tree, which is loved by the devotees of the Hindus, is regarded as the “abode of the Ganadevi “and is still enjoyed by the devotees of the Hindus. The fruit of the fig tree, which is the spiritual thought, increases with the coming of the fruit.

Form

Every year, by November, the fruit grows. The fig tree stems, twigs, and green young shoots that appear all over the place are fascinating. It is a fruiting plant with no flowers. Because of this, the flower will appear in the form of a fruit, and as the fruit ripens and turns red, the attractiveness of the fig tree increases. The ripe fruit, which is also infested with whisperers, is said to be medicinal.

Therefore, the Hela saviours, who understand the medicinal properties of the fig tree, have to use the leaves, bark, nuts, roots, milk and disease conditions of the tree for the benefit of the patients.

Types of Figs:

There are three varieties of fig trees. That is,

  1. Udumbara
  2. Nadiudumbara
  3. Koko Dumbara

The tree is known in Sinhala Fig, Atticca, and Dimbul and in English as Cluster fig, Country Flag. Chemical terms include tannin, silica, phosphorus, acid, glue, and alkali.

Properties

According to Ayurveda, figs which are both decaying and sweet, are a very valuable herbal remedy.

  • Figs have been shown to be effective in the management of skin infections, as well as among the medications used for skin lightening. In particular, it is best to apply fig leaves and aloes to the skin to avoid blemishes.
  • Figs are also an anti-inflammatory drug since they can cause anaemia.
  • With its painful and anti-inflammatory properties, it is also effective in healing and healing wounds.
  • It is also used in women’s diseases, in excessive bleeding through the vagina, and in cataracts, vaginal itching, oedema, and a variety of infections.
  • Figs have been used since ancient times to rinse inflammatory, inflammatory wounds in patients with anaemia, and itching and rashes of leprosy patients.
  • The young fig leaves and curry are delicious and good food. The little fig curry is also an appetizer for the villagers. Our ancestors knew from experience that it can cure a lot of intestinal ailments.
  • In the past, figs have been applied to painkillers, based on the teeth of the toddler.
  • Even modern research has proven that fig milk has high levels of pain, and in the book, it alleviates the pain associated with arthritis, pain in the feet, and abdominal and cervical pain.
  • Figs are also useful for those with a thin body, as they can lose the thinness of fruit by simply drinking fermented figs.
  • It is also known to care for skin diseases such as cough and asthma. Figs are a great herb for the prevention of diarrhoea, gastrointestinal conditions, and many foodborne illnesses.
  • For diabetics, figs are an excellent herb.
  • Figs have been shown to cure many diseases related to the reproductive anatomy of the woman, and also help to stabilize the baby.
  • This is also very beneficial for the liver.
  • Researchers have already focused on the unique ability of figs to prevent infections. Figs have been used since ancient times as outer coating for the cheeks and various glandular swellings.
  • Analysis has shown that figs are also good for STDs, such as gonorrhoea.
  • It is also beneficial for diseases such as sudden ejaculation or short ejaculation associated with male genitalia.
